    back | 1970 AAR Cuda Lime Light - $69,700 | 69,700 miles | Details

In 1970, Dan Gurney bought out Carroll Shelby and has been sole owner, CEO and Chairman of All American Racers ever since. From its inception, AAR Inc. intended to build cars for its own racing teams and also for sale to customers. He and Phil Remington began by preparing aptly named AAR 'Cuda to race in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans American Sedan Championship. Dan Gurney piloted the AAR himself and Sam Posey drove the Dodge Challenger T/A. To comply with SCCA rules, Dodge built a muscle car version of the Trans-Am Series car for the street that was even wilder than the competition model, the 1970 Plymouth Cuda AAR. The race cars ran a destroked 305-cid version of Mopar's fine 340-cid V-8. It had a four-barrel carb and some 440 bhp. The street AA's stayed with the 340, but upped the ante with a trio of two-barrel Holleys atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. Factory reported output at 290 bhp, actual horsepower was closer to 350 bhp. More >

    Description:

This one was ordered as wild as they come. Limelight paint gleams in glowing contrast to the signature blackout hood and strobe stripes. She was ordered with one intent in mind and it wasn't a road course. The motor is original and the Slapstick automatic isn't and that is no mystery the original owner went drag racing.

It's been a long time since her first life as a street driven drag star, terrorizing Mustangs from light to light. Restored in 2005 to the beautiful driveable condition you see before you, she is documented by the orginal window sticker, co-orelating body stamps and original fender tag. Typical of most "E" bodies, she received new quarter skins during her make over on an otherwise rust-free body. Mechanically, she is road ready, all accessories are in working order with the possible acception to the wiper motor (which are notorious for being bad right out of the restoration box).

I have personally viewed, photographed and driven this vehicle. Below you will find a complete fender tag decode. Additonal photos are available upon request. If you are looking for a drivable AAR in a high-impact color you can actually afford to enjoy, this is it!
